Abstract: e report a novel synthesis of alumina nanospheres by using a surfactant-governed approach in the presence of lauric acid. The products were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and N2 sorption methods. The results show that different from previous studies, the produced alumina nanospheres possess not only uniform nanosize (50-100 nm) but also high surface area (505m2/g). The synthesized nanospheres were prepared through self-assembly of surfactant/alumina species complex in 1-propanol system.
